well, first time I was in the north visiting relatives in a backwater that doesn't even get on the map. Hung out by the lochside mostly for a week basically.
Next time would be Dublin: there with friends from Uni and basically a boozey weekend. Third time, Dublin again, this time 'cos I was going to wedding just south of dublin. So a bit of running about doing prep work for the wedding, the wedding itself, then new year. I don't advise new yesr in dublin: go to scotland instead at that time of year. Last time was Belfast for a LOT of visiting friends (mainly of my g/f plus some of her rels), and the odd beer in town.
So all in all, Ireland = beer, except at new year when it is surprisingly tame.
Originally posted by Remora91Obviously the bars are second to none all over Ireland, but like all capital cities Dublin is just a big touristy place. To get the feel of the real Ireland you need to try places like Cork, Kilkenny and Galway. The biggest attraction for me is the people, the nicest people i have ever come across. We go with a group of lads every year and have always been made to feel welcome. just dont expect to get fast service Ireland is the white Jamaica. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know. 😀
What would you say some of the main tourist attractions are?
