Playing chess when you are durnk

I've just been shopping in Manchester city centre, and in The Gadget Store they have a "Drinking Chess" game. The pieces are actually small spirit glasses that sit on the chess board. I didn't read the rules, but I guess you can make your own up.

Now this allows a solution to the problem identified in this thread. If you played with this set with rules such that when you take an opponents piece, you have to drink the contents of that piece, then the person winning would get drunker, and that would tend to even the game up in a perfect example of a negative-feedback control algorithm!

Anyone for a game???

I've played that game before against a good friend of mine (who has an elo of over 2300) and I actually won the fourth game after he nearly dropped of his chair, lol

Ne1 ever tried drinking chess? - drink a shot after you lose a piece...the game deteriorates somewhat and often ends early. But the excuse is that its social drinking so that makes it OK....

(oh,and playing with attractive girls who cant play chess very well is added fun!)

Playing chess while you're drunk is great fun - if you know your opponent is as drunk as you are. I've had several great OTB experiences playing drunken chess. Of course, it's not a good idea

Am I the only person who finds their playing abilities decrease the more drunk they get, yet find that they feel more like playing, the more alchohol is coursing through their veins?

I actually play better with a belly full of wine but then i had to stop alcoholism was killing me hahaha 😛

There was me thinking that I'd once again been drinking and playing at the same time...

Luckily for me, this time it's only posting and drinking together...not much damage to be done there.
