Done any preventative maintenance on your fridge lately?
No, I don't mean maintenance similar to cleaning out your crisper drawer after that stale beer you shook inadvertantly after your last binge concluded exploded within. 🙄 I mean the type of work you never do that's listed in your appliance service manual, the one you tossed ages ago from your short-sightedness.
Remove the grill at the bottom front of your fridge and vacuum out the dust and....other things....accumulating there. It will free up the tiny capilary tubing that supports the refrigerant inside them. You'll save money and conserve energy! You monthly electric bill will thank you.
A tip from your friendly conservation person. 😉

But I don't have a grill at the front bottom?

One other thing: if you (or others reading this) have pets, the coils have to be cleaned more often (at least 4X per year) to keep the icebox in tiptop shape!

Also, you can make your refrigerator colder by diverting from the freezer, i.e. adjusting the air flow to make the frrrrreezer at just 0 degrees F instead of keeping it at a colder temp needlessly, thereby freeing up more cooling power to make your 'fridge keep a temp at between 32 and 41 degrees F and your freezer at 0 degrees F, the standard for food safety...saving you $$ in the long run...
**All refrigerators/freezers may not have this option....

I don't know what you chaps keep your kidney stew refrigerated at but if you keep it at warmer temps. than what I have stated, you will end up with diarrhea...

Originally posted by jimslyp69That's great being a vegetarian; most of those meat replacing products can be eaten raw or can be stored without much needed cooling. Well, I think the don't. Still did not kill me after fourteen years so it is pretty save, I guess...!

Originally posted by chancremechanicI thought you were quoting degrees Centigrade. But on the contrary. You are quoting Farenheit. I'll let you off this time.
