I liked them when I first started listening to metal, particularly Ride the Lightning.
Then I preferred Megadeth.
Then I realised that there are far better bands around than Metallica.
The Black album had one or two decent tracks.
Everything after sucked big time.
And they were crap when I saw them live - Seek & Destroy for about 45 minutes....😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

Metallica are one of the best bands in the world.
Best album Master of puppets.
Second best album ... And justice for all.

Its a shame they made such a crap new album. St. Anger stinks.

My personal favorite Metallica song is "to live is to die"

I love OLD'tallica.

Master of Puppets is the number one album and Disposable Heroes is my favourite song off that album. However, Ride the Lightning is my favourite Metallica song of all time...

And for the record - Yes, they suck now. Not just a little bit but a lot. They should've hung up the skates after the Black album.

Hear hear! I'm a jazz person myself. (And funk, and blues.)

Nonetheless, I like the one Metallica song that I've heard. I don't remember the title, but it's the song that they actually play on the rock radio stations occasionally... I gather it was a huge hit. Haven't heard (or recognized, perhaps) any others.

But they don't hold a candle to Miles or Sun Ra. 😵

(I also note that Metallica has gone completely fascist on the whole filesharing issue, which predisposes me against them.)

Sharper riffs and, oh my god,Mustaine.......I love that man!
No surprise if the best Kill'em all songs are the ones where there's Mustaine hand in it.
Four horsemen is an example.

I feel the same way. They used to be great, but now they are a joke. They might as well start doing boy band numbers as far as I'm concerned.
