@Arkturos saidI'm pretty sure the downvoting is rather self-explanatory.
Even though this is the most nicely designed site for correspondence-style chess (especially for tournaments), I'd rather not play chess here because of certain people in the forums.
Edit: Not to mention the anonymous passive-aggressive downvoting with no explanation.
My earliest reliable memory was getting my tonsils out in 1948. Anaesthetic was a brown hemisphere with a frame which looked like a cross. Woke up in a ward full of women. As the only child in the ward I got lots of attention, plus the ice cream routinely given as soon as i was conscious. I was 3 and a half years old. Never had a cold or even a sore throat until I was about 16.
@Chuck-2 saidGood tale.
Happy days indeed, at the age of 12 I was run over while out Orchard Raiding every cloud so to speak its true,I had a lovely 2 week stay in hospital and a further month off school . nice
‘Orchard raiding’ is that what we used to call “scrumping”?
What were you run over by, the owner in their car?
@diver saidyeah scrumping,got nocked over running away from the gardener,ran into the road ,found out I could fly.....about 30 feet down the road, lucky for me my head took most of the impact.
Good tale.

@Kewpie saidI really dislike seeing tattoos around the throat. All men look smart in a crisp shirt, tie and smart jacket but a throat tattoo really spoils that look I think. It’s strange that neither of my sons had any desire to have a tattoo or a piercing? I’d have been really upset if they’d gone for a throat one.
It wasn't you I was ranting about. It's the footballers and other "celebrities" who set the example our next generation follows.
@Drewnogal saidAnd tattoos on the face or head.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidI have to agree with you and Drew.

It basically screams anti-social and is a huge red flag for me. I mean I can deal with these people and their concerns, but looking in that direction for a life partner is problematic, at best.
