Has anybody here used his type of technology before?
I'm thinking of using it at a client of mine.
They have a weird setup - A home (albeit a huge house) office with 10-15 people working there at any time, but they are scattered all over the place.
They have an existing wired LAN in their main office, but they also use a few other rooms to work from, including another small office, on the absolute other side of this big house, about 40 meters away from the ADSL router and switch they use for their existing network. They don't have a WiFi ADSL router, this will need to change very soon.
They have also built a second storey, and wil slowly be moving some of their offices up there, although the bottom 'offices' will stay in use.
I thought about going wireless, but that would mean putting up high gain antennas and would be pretty expensive. This is the way to go for the future, but at the moment they just want everyone connected.
A UTP cable is not really an option, as it would look untidy running through the house.
So, this brings me to PowerLine networking, HomePlug complaint.
Anyone use this, is it any good?
I've checked hardware prices and they're much cheaper than wireless.
