This may sometimes be recovered under hypnosis.
It's true that we have no exact recollection of the past and other people have their own interpretations of the same situation. And our understanding of our past changes over the years.

Mike Myers has never excited me, but he did have a movie back in the early 2000's that grossed over half a billion World Wide. So obviously he does have an impression on some people. I find him funny, but he doesn't excite me. 😉
