So Monday was President's Day here in the good old US. I was wondering if they have like Crazy Dictator Day in other countries?

Or maybe Castro Day in Cuba.

It meant nothing here -- still had school, still had dental appointment, just no bills in the mailbox.

I can relate Reader; I still had to work and yeah there were no bills in the mailbox. However, that just means I'll have twice as many today.😞

Believe it or not, we have Victoria Day in Canada, in honour of Queen Victoria (the reigning monarch during Canadian Confederation). It's usually the third Monday in in May or some such rubbish.

Here, we know it as May 2-4 weekend.

It's just another excuse for government employees not to work, for banks to close, and businesses to have more sales in the name of another so-called holiday. President Day Sales,go figure.

Veteran’s Day is the holiday that irks me. I’ve worked every one of ‘em while the young girls at the bank get the day off.

There used to be one day off for Lincoln's Birthday and one day off for Washington's Birthday. Now they combined the two. There is no Reader1107's Birthday holiday though. 😳 Yesterday was my brother's birthday though, so the government was closed for his birthday. He's special.
