Pro or Schmuck?
The perennial Schmuck most always makes clever excuses. The Pro owns up and simply says, "I blew it" (in family, in business and in social life).
Taking a page from Catfoodtim's '2009 Prose Competition', in the Culture Forum, which invites 1st, 2nd, 3rd place votes for best 500-word entry...
I'd vote gb as 'Schmuck of The Year' for excusing nuanced overkill confrontation and naivete as a matter of style and for not being able to let go.
