Has anyone else been hit by a recent bug in automatic updates to McAfee antivirus software? My desktop computer is denied access to the net because of an update McAfee installed last week. The glitch caused this problem, apparently, to computers using Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. I'm here courtesy of my iPad. They. Publish a fix but I can't get it to work. Anyone see got this problem?

I second this recommendation. McAfee has given me more trouble than it's worth. For professional use I'd still recommend Sophos, but that's a bit pricy for personal use - AVG will do fine. Give McAfee and Norton a miss.
