Just realized this observation might also apply to chess. How often
after interminable pondering do you come to the awakening that the
position and dynamics have changed significantly, that your going
in strategic plan no longer dominates the moment and that your best
bet is to make a 'high class waiting move' (to preserve the tenuous
equilibrium)... which on the surface seems to make no sense at all.
