I've just worked 70 hours, apparently i'm to squeeze out the guy who trained me for my duties (he's a bit of a butthole), and i've sweat through about 5 shirts this week.

I've been down that road.
Avoid salaried promotions until very skilled at negotiation.
Or avoid them entirely, it's up to you and your priorities.

Sir Huck, seemingly complex biz things are often quite simple. Job security = being worth more than you cost. Promotion = capacity to handle

additional responsibility (department/section/division supervisory or managerial profit and loss responsibility and span of control (of people).

I am still on an hourly rate, so i'm coining it in right now. I am currently on three days off, and enjoying every god damn second of it.

The idea of a promotion is that you get to make the little people under you do the work and you reap the rewards.
