Proud to be a non subscriber

I came accross a non subscriber on this site who states on his profile that he is 'proud to be a non subscriber'. I can't really see the logic in that statement, am I missing something? I can see how someone could be proud to be a suscriber by supporting the site, but not the other way around. I am NOT suggesting at all that not subscribing is something to be ashamed of, of course it's not. But I just wondered under what circumstances could someone be proud to be a non subscriber?
