This never happened to me during my years of experimenting with hallucinogens. I mainly just laughed uncontrollably and went on a lot of hikes in the woods. Once in a while I would catch "trails" or "visuals". They were pretty cool but very infrequent. The laughing is the best anyway.

First off: the strichnone in acid is what makes you see all the pretty colors and flashing lights which comes in the lower grades of acid but is naturally in mushrooms. The active chemical in magic mushrooms is Psilocin or Psilocybin, which acts at most serotonin receptors in the central nervous system. LSD has a very similar mode of action, and produces its effects by acting both as a (very strong) serotonin and dopamine agonist.
