Remember that you still have a reason to live. Even if you are feeling sad and empty, try to pick yourself up and do things that you usually enjoy. Give yourself the best chance at feeling better. Eat healthily and sleep. Go out in nature. Stay away from substances - they only make things worse. Believe me, I know from personal experience.
It will never go away, but it will become more manageable. It's okay to feel awful, and there will be times when you take two steps forward and then one step back. That's okay.
