Three travelers are taking a journey. After walking for some time they decide to stop and have a
meal. Traveler A has five loaves of bread, traveler B has three loaves of bread, and traveler C has
no loaves of bread, but says that if the other two will share their bread with him he will pay for
whatever he eats. The travelers then consume all the bread, each having an equal portion. After
the meal traveler C brings out eight coins of equal value. The question is: how should the eight
coins be distributed amongst travelers A and B to fairly compensate them for the bread they
shared?

Traveler C ate 1/3 of 5 loaves from Traveler A. He ate 1/3 of the 3
loves from traveler b. Coins should be shared 5 to Traveler A andf 3
to traveler B.

each ate 8/3 loaves.
A bought 5 = 15/3, is 7/3 too much
B bought 3 = 9/3, is 1/3 too much
C bought 0, is 8/3 short

so if he has 8 coins, 7 should go to A, 1 to B

is that it?
