so you believe in vigilante justice....if someone does wrong to me i can do the same to them because that's what god would do? or do you believe that karma will do your work for you?[/b]
No, not at all. Vengeance is based on getting revenge.

The Christian way is to remember that God said "Vengeance is mine." It is His place to deliver true vengeance on evil, not ours. Jesus himself said "whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." That's as good a concept as karma. The revenge factor is still out of our hands, as Christians.

However, this is not to say that I do not believe in protecting oneself. If someone is about to do bodily harm to me, I have a right to protect myself, up to and including deadly force, if necessary. I'm not making the choice, the attacker is. Preventing injury to myself doesn't necessarily involve "getting revenge".

That's right, time will tell.

If you are right, then who cares?

But why wait until you are proven wrong?

It's a bit too late, then.

If trev is right, then wont you care? Wont you care about the wasted time you spent on reading the bible, praying and going to church? Wont you be pretty pissed off if it was all a big lie?
(ofcourse you couldnt care anymore because you would be dead๐Ÿ˜‰)

If id be proven wrong when I die the man cant blame me. If he knows everything he knows I try to work with facts. No facts supporting anything in the bible then i wont believe it. If he wanted me to believe it, he should have provided some facts and evidence. But he didnt so he could not expect me to believe in him. Therefor I could still claim my spot in heaven๐Ÿ™‚

I am pretty sure you are a sinner, and you are going directly to hell! ๐Ÿ˜›

In the mean time I will pray nightly for your soul!

Why would you pray for me if im going to hell anyways? You would still look good for it, but you dont care about me, you only care about yourself.

Wonder what god would have to say about that๐Ÿ˜‰

You don't believe in God anyways, so I would say you are on your way to hell...but who knows the power of prayer is very strong.

I would not know what it was like not to believe in anything? Could you explain it to me, perhaps start a thread about it. I know there are others with the same views as yourself.

If I only cared about myself, I would be more like you, and I am not anything like you. ๐Ÿ™‚

"the power of prayer is very strong"
Oh yeah? How many Newtons strong is it then? I dont think you can measure the strength of prayer, and not the effectiveness at all. So you cant claim that the power of prayer is very strong.

"I would not know what it was like not to believe in anything? Could you explain it to me,"
I never said I dont believe in anything. I believe the earth is round, I believe in science. I will accept proven stuff for what it is and just try to live my life as good and with as much fun as possible. I dont need a religion for that.๐Ÿ™‚

"If I only cared about myself, I would be more like you, and I am not anything like you. ๐Ÿ™‚"
Im not sure where you got your information to say that. I suppose you mean RHP-forum-wise. Then yeah, you are probably right.๐Ÿ™‚

Wasted time reading the Bible? No, I'd actually be a lot more pissed about the time I wasted here, arguing with Nihilists.

And yes, you can and will be blamed if you are wrong. Anyone can easily believe something that is shown to his face. Big whoop. You are supposed to have faith, to believe in something larger than yourself, something that is not readily proven, yet you know in your heart to be true. You are already given all the facts you need, but you dismiss it as a fairy tale. Thus, the burden is on you still.

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." -- Revelation 3:20

It's all your decision. You still have to open the door. He's not going to break it down.

"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice." -- Neil Peart

I guess my heart is to small to realise this๐Ÿ™‚

Are you saying the bible contains mostly facts?

""Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." -- Revelation 3:20"
He is knocking, then asking if you can hear his voice. Does that mean god speaks in some kind of knocking language? Like morse code? Interesting:p
