Colleges break for summer recess in May. We did have an extended holiday weekend over the 4th. Some kids might have slipped away from the family bbq for a quick post or 12. Or it could be that everyone's meds ran out at the same time.

Maybe everyone is getting the summer chess rush - after all, in England (maybe other countries too) the chess season finishes around april/may and we have no chess until september. It can be a long wait, but at least you get more activity in the forums - and that is worth its weight in gold.
