rain...

rain...

General

i love the silly pitterpat,
that tiny raindrops make...
a lovely bit of peaceful noise,
that greets me as i wake...

i also like the hammer,
of giant buckets of rain...
when the roof of my tin shack,
groans under the strain...

icy rain, steamy rain,
the water flows over my face...
i stand with arms, open wide,
to receive the heavenly grace...

it's been so dry, for so very long,
let it pour, let it pour, let it pour...
the flowers and trees, drink their fill,
let mother earth, please be restored...

Come to Ireland, see the rain.
Paddy's Day, marching bands are playin'
Dancers and cheerleaders all a grin,
Down O' Connell Street soaked to the skin.

Burger joints selling dodgy food.
Girls in outfits oh so lewd.
Drunk and violent, theft and vice.
Call the police and keep them on ice.

Three woolly jumpers on to keep me warm.
Oh Christ not another thunderstorm.
One band goes by another coming soon,
and every one of them out of tune.

Take me away to the Florida sun.
I'd have better weather and I could buy a gun.
Take me away from all these floods.
buy me a house beside Tiger Woods.

most folks seem to be getting enough water...
here in north texas the management has been "lax"...
it seems a lot of chickens were counted, just from the number of eggs laid in previous years, but those lil pullets have not materialized...

HA!!!
way back when, i remember the navy teaching me how to take a shower... 😛
perhaps wetter days will return...

The General Forum is described
By rain, a word of power
Because we must confess we are
A total, utter shower
