The Month of Fasting
The Meaning of Ramadan
Ramadan is a special month. It is a time for inner reflection, devotion to God, and self-control. To many, it is a method of spiritual self purification, but has many meanings to many people.
The third "pillar" or religious obligation of Islam, fasting has many special benefits. It is a means of learning self-control. Due to the lack of preoccupation with the satisfaction of bodily appetites during the daylight hours of fasting, a measure of ascendancy is given to one's spiritual nature, which becomes a means of coming closer to God. Ramadan is also a time of intensive worship, reading of the Qur'an, giving charity, purifying one's behavior, and doing good deeds. For Muslims Ramadan is an opportunity to gain by giving up, to prosper by going without and to grow stronger by enduring weakness.

In all my time here at RHP, all I've seen seen is Christian-bashing from Genesis to Revelation...let's hear what some of you think about Islam, now that the month of fasting has arrived....don't worry, I won't hold my breath...😉

The reason we enjoy bashing christians so much is because that's what we're most familiar with, and that's who is here on the site to argue with. We don't have any Ivanmohammeds around here trying to convert us to Islam. But rest assured that I hold Islam to be just as contemptible as christianity in general (but maybe not quite as contemptible as Catho ...[text shortened]... vide some equal time, I'll toss in some Islam bashing:
Islam is bad!
Muslims are dumbheads!

everyone has different view points but to specifically say that you should take the mic?deliberatly argue over someone elses views is a bit harsh. I am a Christian and althought i dont mind people discussing and saying other views to me and discussing them rather than saying all atheists and Christian haters...i disagree with the muslim faith, but i would be quite interested to sit with a muslim and ask questions on his beliefs and discover why we they believe it in the same way as i would shear m faith to someone else, but to say lest give a bashing to muslims as it is a time of wrship is a lttle out of order...in my oppion.
