I see they haven't taken the English/Irish theme all the way.

And given that tip works out at almost 15%, I'd hardly consider that poor. Really your friend should just pay his staff a decent wage so tips are a rare bonus, not expected.

I won't disagree with him being a prick though. If you weren't actively supposed to be entertaining him, then to take your cash and effectively put so little in is poor form. But then so is sending him off somewhere that could be (as you make it sound) a little dodgy.

LMAO!! great story that!!

Would have been better if you had turned around once he had offered to put it on his work card, grab your money you have place on the table and said "really you should have but thanks very much!" then gave the girl the £10 tip saving yourself £25! (or dollars)

I have got a mate like that. Sometimes we pile in one of the lads houses to watch the match. At the end of a particular game my mate came up with the idea that we will get a take away pizza to celebrate the win... his treat. Once the doorbell rang, my mate went for his pocket to say "sh1t, Ive left my wallet at home!" So the rest of us had to pay. Believe me, the incident didnt stop him from feeding his fat face to our annoyment!! got more neck than a giraffe!

Oh, hurry up and make your moves in our games too!!😉

It's a very cool English/Irish bar, with oars, footballing jerseys, and sketches of Captain Kidd on the wall. So ...[text shortened]... justice in the world, Chuckie'll "look like a jigsaw puzzle wit' a couple a' pieces gone"!

I believe that was the point, vengance.

And the tip is still under 15%, 15% is like for moderate service these days. Cute bartender gets at least 20%.

$4.30 is a pretty weak tip--especially at your local hangout with a hot bartender. The guy (hopefully) got what was coming to him. Good work.

A few questions come to mind,

(Q) Why did'nt you ask him why he did that ?

Maybe he is not awear of what locals do.

In the UK, 12.5 % to 15 % is the norm for dinner service, very few people tip for a burger and beer at lunch.....that being said I would appreciate "the local" letting me know of the customs of the town...or that its his fav bar.

(Q) If he put it on the "goverment card" why did'nt you ask him to pay his fair share...or better still pay for the meal ?

After all he is not picking up the bill....its the tax payer

You sent him to a "dodgy bar"...say if he gets stab or killed (because he's a moron)...

(Q) Will you not feel like its your fault ?

Two wrongs don't make a right dude...they make two wrongs ....

Its always better to be the bigger man

One question comes to mind...

When the waitress came to your table, why didn't you just grab her pen and stab the guy repeatedly in the throat?

Great stuff, but if you sup next to a big picture of Captain Kidd, expect certain people to be inspired by it.
