Random Thoughts

I know this is not on topic but I thought I would throw a few things out
which seem to plague my mind from time to time.

Does anyone remember the 6 million dollar man show with Lee
Majors? This was one of my faves when I was a kid. The other night
though a revelation ocurred to me...when he got married to the Bionic
Woman in that special...do you wonder when they got home that night
and got into bed and found out that she was standard...and he was
metric? Somebody could get hurt.

I also think that Barney is a reincarnation of Grimace off the old
McDonald's commercials...the guy is still in the pack of cookies...but
not on tv.

Bert and Ernie...well...I am sure everybody suspects about two guys
living together for so long...pigeons or no pigeons.

Just some thoughts...will have more on a later date.

That WAS about the time the U.S. tried metric for a handful of weeks,
wasn't it? Figures. Poor Steve, poor Jamie.

Now I always just figured they rebuilt Steve in a....shall we say....
streamlined ...."Ken doll" sort of way. How else could he run so fast
w/o chafing???

the english gave the world the english language, and the sausage.
yo habla espanol un poko.
that has got me out of a few difficulties.
i really admire people who can speak a2nd language

My native tongue is Dutch (I'm Belgian and live in Antwerp, Flanders).
I'm ery happy to know how to manage in English as it is the language
you can travel & communicate with (almost) worldwide. Unfortunately
my Spanish is absolutely non-existant. You can't know them all. Pity.
The origins and evolution of languages must be a fascinating subject.

For those of us who don't speak German:

How easy is it for a Belgian to learn German?
I am actually not German, but rather english, but it is fun for me to learn
other languages
Please reply in Flemish Dutch. i would like to read some of that.

Sorry, I should clarify - My wife speaks German, so I got her to translate.

Actually, her Grandmother is Dutch, so I sort of have a connection. Went to
Belgium the other year on the way back from the Netherlands. Nice place, from
what I saw - Brugge is very cool. Anyway, enough rambling.

Is it true that the Dutch joke about the Belgians in much the same way as us
Englich do about the Irish? (i.e. claim they're all stupid)
