question
why does my rating go down when I defeat someone who has a much lower (300+) rating.
It doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone explain?
Ratings may appear erratic until this time.
this appears at the bottom of your stats board. it means that until you complete 20 games your rating my go up or down regardless of your opponants rating.

What is a provisionally rated player?
I just won a game. Why has my rating gone down?
How is my rating calculated?
Those are the topics you will find interesting, half way down about.

This system over the long run , seems far more accurate and fair , with far less fluxuation . Keep in mind it is numbers and stats , so any system is going to have inherent flaws and weaknesses . But it's true test is going to be over a larger # of games played than you've got right now , so just ignore it for now , and see what it does when you've got 50 or so games . I think you'll be satisfied with it .
