I've got to admit that I haven't been following the development of
RHP live so I have a couple of questions:
1. What is the difference between RHP live and playing 'live' against
an opponent in the normal way?
2. Is RHP live really meant for those times when you want to play just
one opponent without losing concentration?
3. If the answer to question 2 is yes then wouldn't it be simpler to just
have a facility to screen out all games other than the one your
interested in?
4. Do games played in RHP live count towards ratings?
Rhymester
Andrew, I'll try and answer your questions, but I only have installed it
and haven't had a live game so far.
I don't think there is a rating system set up yet.
I think it's meant to allow two players to have a live game
independant of the RHP site. (In other words, directly linked)
It would be similar to playing on the RHP site in one game when your
opponent is also logged on and you both just play the one game, but
the live game has totally different time controls that you can select,
but you would have to finish the game in the alloted time. (20
minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, etc...)
I'll know more if I get connected to someone and give it a try. I know
it's in 'alpha' stage of development, and Russ warns that there may
be a few bugs to work out at this point.
Hope I answered one or two of your questions, anyway.
regards, Marc
