Don't want to dis anyone (Paulie comes to mind ) , but thought this might be a good idea to have here at rhp .

I'm cooking for my girlfriend's birthday tonight . She requested this one . It's an untitled cornish hen recipe that really works on any fowl .

Ingredients :

2 cornish hens
2 lemons
1 tblsp minced garlic
1 stick butter
1/2 cup honey
season with rosemary , thyme , tarragon , black pepper

Grate some lemon peel from the lemons 1st , set it aside . Peel the lemons and cut into chunks . Put lemon chunks , butter , honey , 1/2 cup water , into a suace pan and simmer for 1/2 hour . Add seasoning . Put cornish hens in shallow sided roasting pan , pour contents of sauce pan over hens . Sprinkle on grated lemon peel .
Put uncovered into heated oven at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes . Turn down to 350 and cook for an hour and 15 minutes more (still uncovered ) . Baste every 10-15 with drippings and or butter if desired .

Sides are up to you.

Enjoy !

1.Grab two pieces of bread (any type will do)

2.Put in the toaster and lightly brown for about 1 minute

3.While still hot, apply a tbsp of butter on each.

4.My favorite recipe....toast

Next time, I will discuss this new thing I've been working with I call "cereal" 😉

Some student drinks recipes:

'Teeeeee'

A drink for unwinding of an evening. Put a teabag in a mug. Boil a cupful of water and fill the mug to 3/4 full. After about 40 seconds, take the teabag out, and replace the volume with milk. Finally, add brandy to taste (at least as much brandy as milk), topping it up a bit as you drink the teeeeee.

'Herbal remedy'

There's a lot of flexibility on this, so I'll just give the essentials: 1/3 orange, pineapple or grapefruit juice 'with juicy bits', 1/4 whole milk or cream, 1/4 spirits, a large amount of tabasco sauce, a few squirts of concentrated lemon juice, and the rest whatever you can find in the cupboard that's vaguely liquid, preferably something fatty, sugary or acidic, or with a strong flavour. Parmesan cheese also makes an excellent addition if you have some handy. Drink at room temperature, swallowing as much as you can at once. Has been used successfully to prevent hangovers, but it works best if the drinker is too drunk to know what it is. 😉

rocky mountain cake

lol we just visited our neighbors and the husband had TRIED to bake this wonderful cake... here's how to do it: mix up any cake you want... and then put so much oil in the baking tin that the cake will soak it up and stick to the sides, making the interesting "Rocky-mountain-pattern" when you try to get it out of the tin... dress with whatever you prefer 😀
