Indeed, it does appear to have the highest-rated entry on IMDb...
Fawlty Towers is rated higher.

Another fine example of popularity over quality 😞

I think Fawlty Towers is great. What would you give it?

It only has 283 votes at the moment. The Singing Detective has 1042.

I don't understand your comment. I would expect something would be popular due to quality.

As you've just demonstrated, people tend to vote out of enthusiasm and not considered opinion.

I don't see your point here.

But I'm well aware that The Singing Detective (1986)
is available as Torrents and can be downloaded by those with the means and know-how. (Interesting that it's much harder to find one for the Hollywood film which is, in all probability, crap.)

However, it's also quite easy to buy the DVD set. I got it for £4.99, delivered. This has to be the best value for money I've seen to date.
You sure you have that right big man?

I agree though, a fine series. Good site, I found several other bargains to be had, including:

Edge of Darkness £7.99

Boys from the Black Stuff £11.99

Can the BBC still produce this quality?

Yes. The one on the right. Looks like they've put the price up.

No.
