I usually use TFC because that's where I started, and it's better at home.
If I use an internet cafe with bad lighting, RHP is sometimes better.

I joined up at TFC but nearly always use RHC - seems I'm in the minority then. Any emails I get are sent via TFC, I've been trying to change that to RHC but nothing seems to do it.

When this thread was started I think I was using RHP. Now I use TFC. I can't imagine that RHP looks better than TFC in bad lighting... wouldn't bad lighting make RHP more blaringly unpleasing to the eyes?

CAW at work, but I can only read forums, my monitor is way too public for playing chess.

RHP at home.

Wow! ChessAtWork loads *much* faster. I just tried it on my wireless (and old) laptop. Gonna use it exclusively on this machine now. Still prefer the looks of RedHotPawn, though.

I have changed my preference today. TFC is loading really slowly today, I've tried CAW for the first time, it's just as bad, but RHP is the only one which is moving anywhere close to the speed that I like. Maybe it'll all change again tomorrow.

does anyone want to outline the differences between the programs? I know chess at work is black and white, less options and graphics and runs faster but whats the other two (red hot chess and time for chess) all about?

Time For Chess just looks different. I find that it's much easier on the eyes. I have never used Red Hot Chess, but I think the reason it exists is that the name "Red Hot Pawn" may give some people problems.
