I like a lot of the stuff you like Phlabbs, but i'd need to set a seperate station up for them.

I gather you have to wait a few hours once you listen to whatever the max # is, at least in one station.
Originally posted by sonhousedunno mate, to be totally honest i've just been listening to my own station, and i've only been thumbin down the real stinkers, i just flick past the so so's.

my problem is that i keep clicking on the Play the immortal game link on the favs list during a cool song and you cant get them back, i keep forgetting about the other window. . .and yeah i am a dumbass, i thought we'd established that by now π

graham has a solo project out now, punk stuff mainly. Blur is on my list
BTW, having two windows up, one on RHP and the other on Pandora lets me whip between the two and still listen.
Ever hear of a UK band called the Charlatans? Its playing now on Marinkatomb's station. 60's kind of mellow sound.

I am a radio dude and know this stuff, there are wide band receivers that go from DC to light basically but those little GRMS radios at 462 megs would be hard to make work at 120 megs. Do you want to just listen? 120 megs is near the AM aircraft band. Is that what you want to hear?
On a little side subject, concerning radio frequency;
I have a walkie talkie that has 20 channels, all in the 400 mHz range. Is there a way to force it to receive another frequency, like say 120 mHz?

I was actually trying to figure out how to get Air Traffic Control (tower, ground clearance, ATIS). They are all around 120 to 130 mHz.
No need to talk to them, just listen.
It is a bit off topic, but not interesting enough to start a new thread.

regular FM band, 88 to 108 megs. We call them the AM or the FM band but its just the modulation used. There can be just as well an FM transmission on 2 megahertz as there there is on 100 megs and likewise AM IS used on the 120 meg aircraft band. That is one of the things that makes the little GMRS radio's we use (I kinda collect them)
hard to convert to aircraft frequencies. You have to besides converting down to 120 megs, you have to have an AM demodulation circuit, which is not a big deal but its just not there on those little $30 radios at 462 and 467 megs. There are units made by Yeasu and Icom and others that are almost as small as those little radios you use but receive AM, FM, single side band and other schemes. They are definitely out of the thirty buck price range though. Try getting a copy of Popular Communications magazine or Monitoring Times, they have lots of articles and ads about this topic. In the Ham world there is magzine called QST which covers a lot more technical stuff. BTW my ham call is AI3N, used to be K6QDT. I recently talked to Antarctica with a 15 foot vertical wire hanging out my second floor windows.

I was just at the airport today and noticed that someone had a Walkie Talkie that was able to receive and send to all the airport frequencies. They could even get ground clearance before they even went out to the plane.
So, I checked my Walkie talkie when I got home and it is nowhere near the same frequency.
Thanks for the info.
