The thesis of this thread is that all religions are divisive. They separate the saved, the true believers, from the heretics, the non-believers. Religious followers are all members of a club. Anyone who is not in the club is unclean, pagan, doomed to eternal suffering.
The rules are that members of the clubs are not allowed to talk to members of other clubs. Each club requires the sacrifice of "The Chopping off of the Ears". Members are, therefore, incapable of listening to any other club members. They are good at talking. They love to talk. But they can't listen to any reasoned antithesis.
Yes, Christ was a good man, but so was Gautama Buddha, so was Mohammed, so was Abraham, so was Guru Nanak, so is tha Dalai Lama, so is my Giddy Aunt Fanny. And you know what? They are all saying THE SAME THING.
So, as we approach 25/12/2011 stick your ears back on. Listen. Be flexible, and demand a refund on your club sub. - it's not worth it.
