Ok, I think this request is not quite as feeble as my other recent ones:
Could there be some sort of automatic indication on the "your games"
page when we are about to time out in one of our games? For
example, why not have a warning symbol pop up by in our games at
the same time that the "reminder" option pops up in our opponent's?
I've lost a couple of games by forgetting that they had three-day
timeouts, since there is no indication of the timeout on the "your
moves" page. I imagine this wouldn't be that difficult to put in, and it
would be a big help.
What would be REALLY useful would be having the timeout details on
the playing screen without having to go to game details.
What happens to me many times is this:
I post up six open invites - always 14 day timeouts and continue
playing my existing games. I then get new games coming up with
either one move made by my opponent (as white) or fresh games with
no moves made.
I assume these games are my open invites being accepted but
unfortunately this isn't always the case and they often turn out to be
challenges, and nearly always 3 day timouts!
When I realise this is the case I delete the games and try to
rechallenge the person with a 14 day timeout. But of course they have
often got their game limit set too low for me to be able to do this.
This can cause unecessary bad feeling and I don't feel like emailing
total strangers in order to explain things.
I'd like to be able to know the timeout of challenges straight away
from the playing screen and to then be able to click on an 'Accept
Challenge but with 7/14/21 day timeout' button. My challenger could
then choose to continue with the new timeout setting... if they don't
agree it would be nice if they could be given the option to delete the
game from the playing screen. Also there should be a message
confirming that early deletion of games dosn't affect ratings.. people
just don't believe it.

or another thought...
If a player challenges you could it initially come up in a different
colour on "your games", i.e. in red rather than blue. If you accept the
challenge it could then drop back to the standard blue text.
I don't know if that would be easier than the other suggestions - or as
useful?

I think the 'often talked about but never implemented' challenge filter
is the quick fix answer. You can then choose to only accept challenges
of a certain type (player of a certain rating, or timeout level).
I'm putting all my development time into the tournaments at the
moment (a big job) - so just remind me again once they go live.
