In a real live chess game is resigning only possible when it your own
turn to move?

I ask this because on this site you could make a move and then
realise that you have made a fatal error or maybe just don't want a
game that you are going to lose hanging over you.

Whilst it is normal to resign when it is your move, I believe you can
resign whenever you want.

It is akways possible to resign, whether you are in the move or not!!
It is only if you want to offer draw, you can only do itwhen you are in
the move and only AFTER making your move.
PS: I would like to play against you BOTH, please.
