@petewxyz saidLast year I lost my work mobile. The owner of a cafe kindly rang the number and a man answered. (I had apparently left my mobile on a bench where I had sat to eat a sandwich). He agreed to wait and I rushed back to collect it. The guy was a teenager who politely handed back the phone and went on his way.
A thread for heart warming stories.
I knew a guy who left his ticket for the Mersey derby (Liverpool v Everton) on a table in a café. The owner came and found him in the pub next door and gave it back to him. True story.

A few years ago, I met a tourist right in the city center. She was devastated for having lost her bag at a bus-stop and couldn't find her way back to the place. She could only point in the direction she had come. We walked the way she recognized and looked under the bench in every bus-stop along the way, and all of a sudden she saw the place she had been - and under the bench was her red bag! We were so happy.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidAnd then you have the nerve to tell me about my short term memory.....LOL....you are a funny dude! 😉 Always give me a good laugh.

I once found a womans wallet she kept in her purse with a few dollars in it but had all her credit cards and license in it. Luckily I found an emergency number for her Husband she had left, got her hubby and told him I had found his wifes purse. He said they were just about to cancel the credit cards so, I told them he wouldn't have to do that now. They offered me a reward when they dropped by to pick it up and of course I refused it.

@very-rusty saidI guess you wouldn't need a reward after telling them not to cancel the credit card. 😉

prepared my paperwork for the bank teller. When I realized what had happened,
I went back to the bank. A customer had found my wallet and turned it in to
the tellers.
All cash and credit/debit cards were there. True story.
@ponderable saidI don't think religion even enters the picture here it is Character of the person.
I returned a lost moble phone on the ascent of Craigh Patrick without being a Catholic. Does that Count?
Good for you!

@earl-of-trumps saidI believe most who go into a bank are honest people. No surprise here that your wallet was still there.

I left an expensive Sand Wedge near the bunker of a hole that I'd played poorly. I was frustrated and absent-minded.
Before I'd even realized it was missing, a couple of gents rushed up to us in their golf cart while we were on the next fairway. They were so gracious. I bought them all a beer in the Clubhouse.
Since then, I've returned a couple of Putters that have been left Green-side.
Such experiences reinforce my belief that honesty always bears good fruit.
@wolfe63 saidIndeed and you should have bought them more than one beer each!!! 🙂
