I was told by a doctor in a walkin clinic that I have the Rhinovirus, and that its pretty severe.. supposed to isolate everything I use.. and he said to ensure I don't give it to my kids as they would get very sick.. He gave me medication for the symptoms, but said it would be a long battle for my body to fight it.
My question is.. I google this thing, and it says just that its the common cold? and should be not that long.. anyone else ever have this? Am I missing something?

really really sore throat.. I've had strep throat many times,and this is much worse. Relatively high fever (101-102). Very lethargic., and my body just aches.. I can't sleep though, as I just sweat way too much in bed. Terrible headache..
medicine given was Advair, and Benzydamine (gargle)

That's the problem with walk in clinics, you never know which doctor you'll get.. but it takes days to get into the family doctor.
How does the doctor know you are infected with a Rhinovirus? Did he / she take a swab and ask for a lab report?
