Is RHP a real community of 'friends', who secretly like each other and have mutual respect? \

Or is it a land of members who want one upmanship against members they choose to dislike, despite knowing little about them?

Could it be the former, where secret likes are held.

Or could it be the latter, where there is genuine dislike of portrayed characters, be they true representations of the member, or not?

Could it be, or is RHP, a real community of friends, or not?

RHP is a community, but it isn't a "community of friends". Like any real-world community, it's a mix of likeable and unlikeable characters, people with hidden agendas, people without hidden agendas, etc. etc. We just happen to be sharing the same leaky boat right now.

Joining RHP is like opening a window to the world.

Five interesting questions. Answer to each is 'yes' (in most citizens minds and 'no' in a few).

Yes indeed. I've had many conversations with opponents that center around "what's it like where you live?". The remark I liked the most was, "Well Moose, I guess everyone from Texas isn't a gun-toting redneck like I thought". lol.

Please look up in the right hand corner of one of the posts (right now). See. See what I'm saying?

True; it's a window made of distorting mirror glass, but a window nevertheless.

It's like any relationship, it takes time to weed out what's "real" and what's not.

Frenetic tempo of cyberspace and the fleeting nature of relationship time windows is reminiscent of the passage

in Psalms, "... a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night"

Are you seriously suggesting we equate the intartoobs with God? Or would you rather take that role yourself?

Mmmmm. This could be good.๐Ÿ˜ฒ

I recently returned to RHP after years away at other sites. Chess is chess, but as I have said before RHP has a certain feel of community for me. Not to be confused in any way with being friends, but definitely a sense of community, which I enjoy.
