How did 2012 compare with 2010 and 2011?

How did Jan. 1-22, 2013 compare with the same period in 2012?

No idea. Present reality interests me, not the distant past.

Dirty work but Ponderable (and the present administration's accounts) can't do it all.

Time is an odd thing. They say all time is now, but just when is now? NOW! Nope that was back then. 🙂 I think George Carlin did a routine on this subject. People think he was a comedian, I think he was a philosophical genius that used humor to get his ideas across. 😉 RIP

Distant past?

Your conclusion about increased activity would have more meaning if you compared January with January,
not just an average figure for the entire year. Slower summer months drag the average down.

Comparing 2012 with prior years would show if it was a typical year or less active overall.

Your method is weak and your conclusion indicative of nothing more than a statistical anomaly.

Have at it. Curse the darkness or light a candle. Stand on my shoulders; see out far or in deep, backward or forward. I, too, have a few other things to do... such as shower and shave; forage and eat; make chess moves and call California (and, then, wish I hadn't); and, importantly, to poop and pray.
