does anybody know if their are set timings when RHP goes down for maintainence, or is it just random depending where in the world you are playing from.

It always goes off just after you have written a really long post and are just about to press 'post' 😉

That is soooo true! Thats why, whenever I make a really long post, I've started 'copying' the post 😉 (Just in case RHP goes down for maintenance. When it 'comes back' I can just paste the post.)

during my *ahem* "working" day it seems to go down at almost precisely 1.40pm GMT. I know it goes down at other times too, but I tend not to encounter them so often.

It is at set times, I will try to get Chris to publish them.

BTW : I aim to rectify the problem with losing longs posts too.

Yes, we can solve the problem of lost posts. I also am in the habit of doing a swift Ctrl+A / Ctrl+C in any message box whenever I am about to post on a website. A sensible thing to do I think.

It goes down for several minutes at the following times...

0145 GMT
0745 GMT
1345 GMT
1945 GMT

This is for essential maintenance work. If we were to leave the site up during these times, it would run much slower than normal and would probably frustrate the majority of players.

Our apologies for the inconvenince. When we next upgrade the server, we will do away with the downtime as the next beast will be able to handle much more activity.

Perhaps as much as 3 or 4 Rhymesters.
