So, that would make Moonbus correct in his statement! πŸ˜‰

PS, and only one round of voting.
Yes, I feel the same. Was good to try the second round of voting last year, but was better I think with just the one vote.

Sorry to throw a spanner in here, but: I think if you're going to have two categories, e.g. 1000 words and 250 words, it would need to be two separate competitions, which is fine if that's what's wanted, but writing 1000 words or 250 words are different skills, and to mix them up would not be comparing like with like. I also think; stick with one subject and make the word - count exact, that's also part of the skill of it, otherwise it all gets a bit floppy.
End of the day I don't really mind, and if people don't like the rules they don't have to enter, but here's an opinion.

Edit: Last year was the first year I'd entered, but I quite liked the second round voting thing, it made the competition more substantial, and more exciting.

Catharsis might be an appropriate topic.
That post has radically altered my mindset.
    I do like catharses.
And I like the idea of them as well.

Thank you everybody for sharing your thoughts.

My opinion is also that if we have a 250 word competition it would be separate. As a reader I wouldn't be able to compare them. Voting is the difficult part. Anyway.

About the topic. We have one real suggestion up to now: Catharsis (by moonbus).
Feel free to vent on these things.
I think about the voting procedure we will have to have a vote.

Two separate competitions, 1000 and 250, is ok by me.

How about a particular genre? We had horror a couple of years ago which was fun. Suggestions:

    1. Futuristic western
    2. Alien invasion
    3. Murder mystery
    4. Romance
