RHP Prose Contest 2021

How about a particular genre? We had horror a couple of years ago which was fun. Suggestions:

1. Futuristic western
2. Alien invasion

Sorry to throw a spanner in here, but: I think if you're going to have two categories, e.g. 1000 words and 250 words, it would need to be two separate competitions, which is fine if that's what's wanted, but writing 1000 words or 250 words are different skills, and to mix them up would not be comparing like with like. I suspect running two competitions simultaneously would be a bit unwieldy and difficult to organize. (I agree we shouldn't mix the two different lengths). Perhaps it would make more sense to have the regular competition now (upper limit 1000 words) and then in the summer trial the shorter competition (250 words).

Not sure about the exact word count. Perhaps only for the shorter competition?

That makes no sense whatsoever.

I have, for example, advocated one round of voting rather than 2. - If that had happened last year, I would have finished fourth.

Why would you do that goad, it wouldn't favor YOU at all?...LOL....!~

Perhaps you thought the first round results would be different last year, and expect to improve from your last year performance?

I quite like murder mystery too.
