I don't feel sure of their moral standards, but such circumstances often - I would guess - create a form of loyalty which was shaped there because they were better off together. Red liked Dufresne, that's why he helped him - he was special, and Red was impressed.

Red, who was the one who told the story, said that he was interested in Andy Dufresne because he walked about in the prison yard as though he was untouchable wearing a coat which made him invisible. He sensed that Andy was in some way special. Also, Andy was an educated man which everyone knew. (This is based in a true story, Andy was the vice president of a bank in Portland in real life.)
In the RHP world I can't tell who is who but I see no evil people here.

torunn I often think you don't see evil anywhere.

Just your personality! Not a bad thing.

I see evil in history, films, books and through hearsay but I have never encountered an evil person. If that should happen, I would be very upset.

Yes I did, in the film, but I think I have gone off topic without getting it, so I think my posts should be ignored.

Key part of the movie missed for me not showing what happened to Jake, he should have been in the last scene in Mexico.

I don't mind the topic, but I like the movie even more and that's why I focused on that. I need to know people better here to make a comparison but it's interesting.

@divegeester

Yup jut a bit of fine, maybe a bit of fiction thrown in too. It's all good

True, there must be a variety of threads or we get bored. 🙂
