Hopefully an updated and improved database.

Not exactly "leading edge" but would be welcome a lot more than a bunch of superficial UI changes.

Maybe they will be able to include the touchscreen technology of Windows 8 so we will be able to touch and move just like in a real OTB game.

I am already behind the times. My wife has an old Kindle without a touchscreen. I did not know you could get on RHP from a kindle. I thought it only connected to Amazon.com.

This isn't leading edge, in fact it's really old tech.

But it sure would be nice to be able to post clickable URL's in posts or personal messages. Also the ability to do simple stuff in the forums like underline words, change colors and font sizes... stuff that just about any other forum on the planet has had available for over a decade.

I'm guessing the forums aren't a focus at RHP, but why not? They attract users and encourage memberships.

We don't have smart phones. I guess you would call our phones -- dumb phones.

My smart phone is just a cheap version of your snazzy Kindle Fire... only difference is my screen is smaller and my device rings when telemarketers dial a certain sequence of numbers.

Kindle Fire for the win.

Chris is running an update on this now. It should be released at the same time as the new UI.

Touchscreen support for iPad, Android and Win 8 is fully supported in new UI. Also, drag and drop with the mouse. Once you get used to it, its feels odd using the current method.

I'm not sure we really need all that stuff - variable font sizes and colours. They could be added very easily...but we choose not to.

Once the update goes live, we will be better prepared for "Holographic chess". I might even produce a 3d chess board to prove it. 🙂
