Any news as to why the membership here at RHP is taking a sudden jump? 200% the original price to 2009!

Is the global economy killing chess sites too?

That's a big jump but not 150%.

from 20 to 30 to 40 - big steps but it still isn't expensive, that's only one main course at a good restaurant, and it lasts a lot longer.

Believe the increase will apply only to new subscribers in 2009... with the modest fee for present member recurring membership unchanged.

Edit; Go to the 'Announcements' public forum. Thread from Russ dated December 10, 2008, should inform you and clear up any confusion.

One less bottle of wine per year... but only for those members to whom this well supported policy change applys. RHP is a market leader.

When the price goes past $5 per week I may write and complain 😉

Right on... where else can a guy or gal have this many friends or this much daily excitement, competition and fun with his or her clothes on?

Be fair - the price of Russ's cigars have shot up due to the credit crunch. 😏

Yea...

well, to those of us who don't make more than 15,000$ a year... its rather viscious... every 10$ is expensive... thats like over a week's meals being rationed off....

Only reason I subscribed this year is because i caught some work on the side up in the woods, and told myself i could have a treat.

inflation sucks.

I must admit it surprises me. The site will be earning more money in this climate as the exchange rate from US dollars to UK Sterling is favorable to the UK at the moment (well, better than i have ever seen it, put it that way...)
