I can vouch for this.

I recently had my first Achel, and it might rival Orval as my beer of choice. But I'm not quite sure. I think some more trials are in order to see which does taste the best. Oh, the hardship...

Because beer should not be chilled.It should be slightly lower than rooom temperature.ie from the cellar.You only have to answer these 2 simple questions to realise the English are correct.
1. When was beer first brewed?
2.When did we invent refridgerators?
And Skeeter has already explained why in some places beer is drunk chilled.
Quote..It's because every other countries beer ( including NZ ) has to be chilled so you can't taste how bad it is.
