I think the date's ok.. As for the location, I was thinking of Cantina R3 in Regie. That's where I played a few matches in the Politechnic Olympics. You can also have a snack and they allow alcohol to be brought in. If you come up with a better idea, share it.

I have some friends that dont do RHP (yet).. can they come?

sceptic ... sure anybody can come ...
and if they can't come ... force them to make a redhotpawn account! 🙂

btw ... you must know how it works there ... do we have to talk to the manager ... rent the place out ... or simply come in there and start playing and buying food/drinks while we are there ?

Cantina R3 is where the students eat, play rummy and sometimes study.. There is no need to talk to someone for this. But I just realised that next week is the last before the exam period. It starts on 22, so there could be quite a lot of students wanting to study. But on the other hand, there aren't to many of us from RHP, chess players aren't that loud, so I think it's ok.

I will try to make sure if that is ok.

Depends on the amount of palinca/tsuica they've drunk.

I thought about that.. but then again.. who's able to play chess after he drank "palinca"* or "tzuica"* ?

Palynka.. are you Romanian or Portuguese?

* Both palinca and tzuica are romanian traditional drinks that resemble plumb brandy they say.. anyway.. they are spirits distilled from plums, or other fruits (peach, grapes, pears..). Palinca is more potent than tzuica.

I'm Portuguese, but spent a semester in Bucharest around in 2000/2001. Loved your country ever since.

if people are gonna study there ...
we can't play ... i mean sometimes you have to exchange a couple of words .... (to know each other, celebrate victory 🙂 etc... ) ... mass sushh!!! from the studiing crowd won't be ok.

if in the next week ... the exams are finished ... and there will be no more studies ... then we can play next week in cantina R3. Another ideea is to find a pub where we can drink a couple of beers / play chess ... whithout renting the whole place out.

Since i just arived in bucharest (1 month or so) ... i want your suggestions on the location ... (preoteasa etc. ... )

if there are silent people who read this ... please put some coming comfirmation .. we need to know how many of us ar coming ...

I've checked the place out this weekend and it's ok. From my point of view the only thing left is to agree on a meeting place and hour. Grozavesti subway exit? 12:00?
