Ok, im really starting to suffer from this now (repetitive strain syndrome). Does anyone know of an mouse/key board that will relieve the strain in my arm? If not any advice would be really welcome :'(
Posture is usually the main problem: straight back, head up, arms ao 90 degrees and you'll find that a fter a while most the problems fade (did for me). Its all quite odd, but strain in the neck/shoulder area can for example create pain in your lower arm/wrist. Bodies eh?
In terms of devices, I use a gel pad in front of the keyboard which keeps my wrists much straighter and was well wroth the £10 it cost. Avoid gel-mouse things. Terrible idea. An ergonomic mouse (basically, one suited for left/right handed use) I find useful though other folk hate them.
A google reference that popped up is:

The pics are probably worth it usess you are on a dial up (as it is rather a big pdf document)
i find the most important thing is to lounge around .. ACTIVELY
i do not always sit upright or whatever .. i do not use a gel mousepad ...
i do wriggle and squirm and slump back like a slob and lean forward and sideways and break all the rules .. and i keep changing.
sometimes, for a particularly tough move, i get up and use my weights for a while.

posture is important, i'm not sure 'correct' posture is the be-all and end-all.
make sure youe desk isn't covered in crap (mine has been known to get a foot deep in paper and rubbish), plenty of space round your mouse helps. Wheelie mice (in my experience) exacerbate the problem by encouraging repetitive use of the wheel.
see your GP - physio can help.
use dragon naturally speaking! (a right PITA, but no typing required - surfing ok, RHP works fine, bad: windoze only)
don't let it get too bad - personal experience says that 6 months on doctors orders not to use a keyboard can seriousely compromise your computer use.
I read a piece in New Scientist a few months ago that said if your computer has a numeric keypad you benefit by using the mouse with your left hand, because you have less far to reach (someone did a study where right-handed users switched over). I have been using that configuration ever since, and it's really quite easy to get used to.
However, I think posture and a pma are more effective, still every little helps 🙂
