Both were excellent. After two weeks lazing around and diving in the Maldives, I'm now finding it hard to get back up to speed.
>> Is the wife hiding the computer from you yet?
Not yet. (She has lived with me long enough to know what she was getting in to).
I'll just repost here what I posted to another thread earlier tonight...
"Just for fun, here is a honeymoon snap from the middle of the Indian ocean. My poor new wife has now become a walking billboard - she didn't just marry the man, she married the site too." 🙂

I did 16 dives over my holiday. All were excellent. (I borrowed a digital camera and casing, so I could post some photos if you are interested.)
Over my life time, I don't know. I used to dive frequently 10 years ago when I lived by the coast. (One day I will return, the sea is my favourite play ground.)

Originally posted by Russdefinitely interested in seeing some photos. I have to agree, the sea is my favourite playground too. There has to be something said for an environment where you can move in three dimensions, fly with the birds (who happen to be fish but are beautiful and curious nonetheless), move not only through incredible forests but also up them and feel completely weightless. 🙂

3D movement in a beautiful silent world is the big thing for me – and as close to being an astronaut as I will ever get.
Although I haven’t provided any land photos here(and only a handful of sub aqua shots), the Maldives are an amazing place. The whole country sits only 1 meter above sea level – with no hills (let alone mountains) or rivers.
So, everyone, think about that next time you drive your car when you could walk. The whole COUNTRY could become the Atlantis of tomorrow.

Those pics are awesome! Do you own the equipment, did you rent, or did you put your digital camera in a plastic baggie ???

Originally posted by willatkinsI had intended to buy a camera, but even cheap dive cameras are very expensive. By good fortune, a Japanese dive leader offered me her Sony digital camera and casing after I complained about the price in a local shop (I did give her 50 Euros though - I used it all week).

Lucky I am not a technophobe - I had to learn how to use her cased camera with Japanese text 30 meters down, and in a moderate current. All good fun.
Taking photos was a huge thrill - if I can ever go again, I would love to purchase some decent kit with lighting. Shame the colours don't come out so well without it.
I have some better pictures from snorkelling, where the light was always stronger, but they are not digital, unfortunately. Had a couple of fantastic shark encounters whilst snorkelling, and even managed to get off a few snaps one day.

Originally posted by rwingettIt wasn't that bad, I booked it one week before going! (I was history if I didn't sort it out in time). I guess the world wasn't so keen to travel when there was a war on. [Having said that, truth be told, I was a little nervous flying into Qatar's airports myself - luckily security was intense.]
