What's better:

Use the salad to set the foundation for your meal (eat it first)

or

Use it as the roof over top of your meal (eat it last)

or

Do you rebel against the cliche's and pick at it throughout your meal .

And which one do you think helps the most with a comfortable passing of good ole #2.

Throw the salad in the trash or feed it to a rabbit or something, and have some good food instead.

If you really need help with #2, try eating oatmeal for breakfast.

ok, I don't have any problems with my #2 πŸ˜›

Was much more wanting the conversation to steer towards when so people eat their salads during the course of their meal.

My favorite salads are when they ARE the meal. Taco salad, Cajun chicken salad, potato salad is okay but needs something on the side, cottage cheese with fruit.

I agree. We have salad, of some sort, as meal at least once if not twice a week. Mmmmmmmm

Vegetables are for rabbits.

Steaks must be straight.

Also, chewing is a waste of time. Swallow!

Americans usually eat salad first.

This is probably because restaurants typically bring it out first, and Americans are nothing if not creatures of habit.

In Portugal, the cliché is eating it throughout the meal, as if it were just another type of garnish. πŸ™‚

Yes, same in Germany and Norway. I didn't know there was a cliché of eating it at the end of the meal. Personally, I like the German/Norwegian way if I get a separate plate or bowl. However, when I have to prepare dinner myself, I am usually too lazy to prepare several dishes, so I either have a big bowl of salad and nothing else or something else without salad. Or sometimes I may have a smaller, less substantial salad as a snack.
