i came across documentary on youtube a while back about a british savant who could play anything he heard only once from memory. i went to his web site, and discovered he had a CD of his interpetations of classical and contemporary music, which i thought would be a rather nice gift for one of my friends who is herself a pianist, and rather talanted at that.
two questions,
-can anyone venture a guess at the name of this savant? i have used google to no avail. or even better, does anyone know his website, or where i could get the CD?
-can anyone think of a present for a young musician who is very hard to buy presents for? and is very opinionated about music...? 😛
thanks. 🙂

Stop attacking, gerk. Be nice.
i would have posted said comment if it was any poster. i would have replied like that to anyone in real life (apart from my boss, who is touchy). i can only assume that you are rallying to the defence of jenna1. i missed the whole lynching and have little idea what actually happened. i was away and when i returned decided my time could be better spend that reading those big threads. in short, don't assume everyone is out to hurt her.
🙄
EDIT1a: or you were joking. *shrigs*.
EDIT1b: thanks Mimor, that's the one.
Originally posted by geniusThen she is a big fan of Bach. Some interesting Bach interpretation may appeal to her (but not in the jazz format as she probably has all the Jacques Loussier stuff already [kudos btw I am a fan of his too]).
the flute, why?
EDIT: mostly classical, but with bits of jazz. she really likes jacques lucier...

If I/we cannot tease someone for asking "What instrument a pianist plays" without being deemed a "lyncher", this place has seriously, completely, bottomed out to the lamest of possible forums.
