Those were the approximate, the close as I can remember age I was when I first viewed them.
@divegeester saidThought so but as you are a traveller I had to ask.

Based on how it made you feel at the time of viewing, what is the scariest film/films you ever sat through, or part way through?

@divegeester saidThe first Jurassic Park movie. Though my mind told me it was just a movie, my instincts gave me a very different message. I hadn't been that scared in a long time. π³

@divegeester saidYour immunity to the scariness of Play Misty For Me needs to be mentioned on the Subtle Signs of Toughness thread, methinks.
A tense film for sure, but to be honest I wouldn’t have guessed that would be on anyone’s list.
@mchill saidTaxi To The Dark Side, documentary about ‘enhanced interrogation techniques’ authorized by Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld.

jaws
i saw it several years after its release
backstory - i grew up on south padre island fishing and seining
hammerheads, nurse, tiger, lemon, and prolly a few other shark species were caught and released
if you let a shark lie on the beach for ten minutes, it took all the spunk right outta them and we'd play with them in the shallow water
a shark's skin is abrasive as all heckfire
i was never scared of a shark
until i was twenty five
that film has stayed with me since
damn you steven spielberg
@divegeester
I think the reason "Play Misty" got my vote is because there are real-life people out there who are just like that, so it has stuck in my mind.
