a common misconception, and of course wrong. Celtic, lest we forget, reached the final of the UEFA cup only the season before last, and to suggest that either of the Old Firm couldn't beat such minnows as Plymouth or Birmingham shows a lack of appreciation of the strengths of the Glasgow teams. People forget that only one team in the English Premiership ...[text shortened]... hen they're watching the imported Scandinavian team-mates from the sidelines week in, week out?
Scotland has a population of 5 million. England has a population of 55 million.
Say 1 in every million people is a great footballer. That means Scotland has 5 (half a team) and england has 55 (which is basically 5 teams worth).
That means, to equal matters out England should be beating Scotland by 10 points per match...to even out the odds.
England never win with more than 10 points. Nay, they never even win by more than 3 or 4 points...which means, statistically, Scotland wins every match!
Not bad for a small nation of drugs absuing alcoholics.

Originally posted by Ragnoraki think we have some useful young players, the problem is the last four or five games is that we play ok in the first half but when berti gets a hold of them at half time the second half is a disaster!
Even having Alex Ferguson wouldn't make a difference. The players just aren't there at the moment.
