yeah, lets forget that there are such things as moral, ethics and justice, just because decades of military & financial support to oppressive regimes, arms dealing, invasions, assassinations and religious & racial prejudices blew up on your face and 3,000 innocent people paid for it. lets forget civil rights & constitution, and build up concentration camps, torture people, wage war against a couple of third world countries, destroy their infratructure and liberate opium trade while we're at it. because war is good, war is profits, and there's such a nice nationalistic excuse to 'justify' it all.

hell no.

If your point is to criticize the US government for its policies, I don't think that it is appropriate to do so in a thread that was intended to be for remembering what has occured on this day.

For the record, I agree with your criticisms. While they are obliquely related, I feel that this is not in good taste to level them the way you have done here because it seems that you feel that this event was justified.

Not justified, just inevitable.

Then by that logic, it is inevitable that such a heinous crime will befall China. They torture innocents. They are exploiting Africa and, essentially supporting the Genocide in Darfur through their inaction. etc.

it seems you're the one who's in the wrong thread then, the topic is not 9.11.2001, but the time after it... (although I sort of doubt that I'd pussyfoot around the subject in the other case either).

and I've never though it was justified, just that there are clear reasons why it happened. cause & effect at work.

"Your memories, perspectives and thoughts"

Was the topic of the thread. I would say that is clearly a memorial tenor, not critical analysis of cause and effect.

What bombings are you referring to in China? I confess that I have no clue what you are talking about.

as far as I know the recent ones are all 'domestic' though. but as an example, governmental violence is always countered with more violence.

Very sad, but hardly of the scale and cause and effect of 9/11, Madrid or even London.

They didn't die for nothing. Americans are getting cheap oil now.
Really? We seem to be paying more than ever for it. Where are we getting this "cheap oil" from? Is Iraq giving it to us for less than the normal market price?

You really are stupid Crowley.
